Final API-connected interface upgrades

In the last couple months our programmers have been working on the improvement of not only the backend and the API, but also the frontend of AdOcean. We have got reports from some of our Clients that certain views are loaded slower than others and it had a noticeable impact on the efficiency of working in the interface. One of the several tasks we laid out to improve the situation was to change the communication of the affected views with our databases and to switch from using custom PHP functions to using our extremely fast API. We have set up additional servers for the AdOcean API and separated it completely from the interface servers, thus freeing several views from the burden of too much campaign or ad space data.

With this release we are upgrading a few more views of the interface in order to benefit from the speed of the AdOcean API. The affected views this time are:

Orders List under PLAN / ORDERS and PLAN / SUMMARY:

Surround Orders List under PLAN / SURROUND and PLAN / SUMMARY:

There are is another change in case of order and surround order lists: the name of an inactive order or surround order is displayed in grey for easier distinction:

The last view to be upgraded is STATISTICS:

In campaigns, where orders are planned based on different indicators, the table in STATISTICS view presents a column called 'All events' instead of 'All impressions'. It tells exactly what type of event was set for the order's or surround order's delivery plan insetad of impressions.

Additionally, deleting orders and surrounds assigned to capping or retargeting is also tweaked:

  • deleting orders assigned to retargeting becomes impossible. In such situation, the system shows a list of retargetings for the selected order. This way you can find the proper retargeting and unassign it from the order, which needs to be deleted;
  • in case of orders assigned to a capping or targeting, the system shows a list of cappings and targetings, which are connected with the selected order. Deleting an order connected to a capping/targeting results in the removal of that particular capping/targeting as well;
  • deleting an order assigned to a global capping doesn't remove that particular global capping as well, not even if the deleted order is the only order assigned to that capping;
  • deleting several orders at the same time results in the removal of all marked orders or none, if there is at least one which is connected to retargeting (see the first point).

The upgrades also mean some changes concerning interacting with table headers. Any column of a table may be resized if needed, by moving the mouse pointer over the border of a column and then dragging it left or right:

Additionally, you may sort data by any column. To do so, just click on the column header. The column, which the table is sorted by, has a darker upward (ascending) or downward (descending) arrow next to the column title:

The way of showing more or less records in tables is also different than before. The number of categories, placement types or placement categories, which were found using the actual filtering options, may be seen in the left part of table footers. In the middle of a footer you can see the paginating controls. Click an arrow to jump to the first, previous, next or last page in the records. Select a value from the drop-down list next to them to show more or less records on one result page:
